Lego Typewriter Coming In July 2021!

Are you a fan of typewriters? How about Lego? Well then, you might be interested in getting the new Lego Typewriter that’s hitting the stores in July of 2021. Priced at $199 U.S. an excellent bargain for something that will have some 2,079 parts that you can assemble.

Typewriters are complicated in their design with lots of mechanical moving parts, lots of keys, lots fun. Legos are fun too and many of us grew up playing with Legos and creating fun simple to complicated designs.

Based upon a concept idea submitted to the Lego ideas platform sent in from a Lego fan Steve Guinness, the design was voted up with more than 10,000 votes and Lego decided to turn it into a reality. As part of Steve’s submission, he will receive royalties from the sales of the Lego typewriter.

The set is aimed at adult builders with a desire to have a as close as possible to making a real, mostly working, typewriter with Lego bricks.

When a user presses a key, for example, a typebar hammer will fire and strike the fabric element in front of the paper and thus hit the paper. The carriage moves as the keys are pressed just like in a real typewriter. The platen turns and a piece of paper can be inserted in.

The designed style of the typewriter is set to resemble a classic typewriter. The look of the Lego typewriter, action and overall design appears excellent. A welcome addition to any collector of typewriter memorabilia.
