1968 Royal Custom Portable

1968 Royal Custom

This is a 1968 Royal Custom typewriter. This machine is in good shape overall, but there are a few areas of missing paint and evidence of where it had been dropped at one point. Everything is fully functional on this machine except for the missing Variable Spacer that is normally located on the left knob. This typewriter is really smooth to type on and really only requires a light touch to get a decent printed page.

The design and style is something of a retro space age look. It’s one of those that you either like it or you don’t but that shouldn’t stop you from finding one of these and typing out your next novel.

This typewriter has many of the same features as other Royal portables of this era. It isn’t anything to special or unique mechanically speaking but that good since  Royal’s have always been extremely reliable machines.

Universal ribbons fit this typewriter perfectly and are sold on this site.

The case is a solid hard shell case in very good condition.
