Mesa Typewriter Exchange Still Going Strong!
Mesa Typewriter Exchange is still going strong. If you need repairs, have questions, or just want to see a great collection of typewriters, stop in and chat with Bill Wahl.
The shop was started by Bill Wahl’s father and grandfather way back in 1949 and Bill has been there pretty much his whole life. So if you think the typewriter is a dead art, you’re far from wrong!
Recently, on May 14th, 2021, KJZZ’s Phil Latzman did a broadcast report about the shop after visiting.
- Listen to Phil’s report here.

It’s been a long while since my dad (Bob Drudge) first visited the shop and got the bug for typewriters and why we started the Old Bobs Old Typewriters site. And been a few years since my family has visited the shop too! (Scott, Terri & Nick Drudge). We all grew up in Arizona and would visit the shop from time to time.
Bill’s a great person to chat with and his knowledge and repair abilities are the best!
We’re working now on rebuilding this site, adding tons of videos, typewriter information and more to keep the typewriter going for years to come. Look for changes soon!
